How to Choose the Right Gazebo Size for Your Event

From tight schoolyard stalls to wide-open expo activations, picking the right gazebo size makes or breaks the day. Here is how to choose.

A branded gazebo is one of the most flexible event tools you can own – but the size you choose decides everything from how many people you can serve under it, to how easily it fits on a tow-bar bike rack, to how many sponsor logos you can fit on the canopy. Get the size wrong and you are either cramped behind a tiny demo table, or wasting money on a 6m rig you cannot transport.

We sell five sizes across our Classic Steel, Classic Aluminium, Deluxe Premium Steel, Deluxe Pro HD Steel Hex and Deluxe Pro HD Aluminium ranges – ranging from a compact 2m x 2m to a 6m x 3m wide-format. Here is when to pick each.

2m x 2m – Compact Single Operator

The 2m x 2m branded gazebo is the smallest standard size we offer. It is built for one operator behind a small demo or sample table.

Best for:

  • Single-person product sampling at retail centres
  • A pop-up information desk at a school sports day
  • Mini activations where space is tight (rooftops, narrow market stalls)
  • Customers who tow gazebos behind a bike or fit them in a hatchback

A 2m x 2m has roughly the footprint of a single-car parking bay. Two people can comfortably stand under it; a third makes it crowded.

3m x 3m – The All-Rounder

The 3m x 3m is the most common size we sell, and for good reason – it fits most use cases.

Best for:

  • A two-person team running a sales table plus a side display
  • Trade-show stand with a back wall and one side wall
  • School fetes, sports days, charity drives
  • Festival activations with branded chairs and a tablecloth

Under a 3m x 3m you can comfortably set up a 1.8m trestle table, two branded directors chairs and a few stock crates – with room left over for two staff to work.

4.5m x 3m – Wider Frontage, Same Depth

The 4.5m x 3m gives you 50% more frontage than a 3m x 3m without increasing depth. It is ideal when you need a wider sales counter but the venue limits how deep your stall can be.

Best for:

  • Long demo counters at expos with narrow alleyway depth
  • Three to four staff working side by side
  • Larger sample tables with multiple SKUs to display
  • Food vendors who need fryer + prep table + serving counter inline

6m x 3m – Maximum Branding, Multi-Station

The 6m x 3m is the largest standard branded gazebo we offer. Think of it as two 3m x 3m gazebos joined at the centre pole – which means twice the sponsor-logo real estate on the canopy.

Best for:

  • Large brand activations where the canopy IS the billboard
  • Sponsor zones at concerts and sporting events
  • Multi-station stands (entry, demo area, payment, takeaway)
  • VIP hospitality zones at corporate events

It is also the most demanding to transport – the carry bags are around 1.6m long and the frame weighs more than 30kg. Make sure your bakkie or van can accommodate it.

Quick decision framework

If you are still unsure, run through these questions:

  1. How many staff under it? 1 = 2m, 2-3 = 3m, 4+ = 4.5m or 6m
  2. What is going under it? Just a desk? 2-3m. Big counter + display? 3-4.5m. Multi-station? 6m.
  3. How does it travel? Car or hatchback? 2-3m max. Bakkie or van? Any size works.
  4. What is the venue letting you do? Narrow stalls = 4.5m wide x 3m deep. Big footprints = go 6m or two 3m gazebos.
  5. What is your budget? Larger gazebos cost more, weigh more, and need more setup time – but cover more branding area per rand.

Still not sure?

Send us a brief at our contact page and we’ll recommend a size based on your specific use case. We have customers running 2m x 2m gazebos at hundreds of activations a year, and others doing 6m x 3m rigs at a single annual event – there is no wrong answer if it fits your job.
