Branded Gazebos vs Banner Walls: Which Wins at Expos?

Both work. They solve different problems. Here is how to decide between a branded gazebo and a banner wall for your next expo or activation.

Published 24 June 2026

We sell both branded gazebos and fabric banner walls – and customers regularly ask which one is right for their next expo. The honest answer is they do different jobs. Here is how to choose, with a few cases where the answer is “both”.

Quick decision

  • Gazebo wins outdoors, with foot traffic, when you need staff under shelter or product display under cover.
  • Banner wall wins indoors, against a wall, when you want maximum branding height in a small footprint.
  • Both win at large outdoor expos where you have space and want the banner wall as a back wall behind the gazebo.

When to choose a branded gazebo

Branded gazebos solve four problems banner walls cannot:

  1. Shelter – staff, customers and product stay dry/shaded
  2. Footprint claim – a 3m x 3m gazebo defines your stall boundary visually
  3. Multi-staff workspace – two to four staff can work under one
  4. Outdoor branding height – canopy + flag corners stack 6m of visibility

If you are outdoors – sports days, festivals, market days, fundraising drives – a gazebo is almost always the right choice. The only exception is indoor expo venues that explicitly ban gazebos (some convention centres do, for fire-code reasons).

Sizes from 2m x 2m to 6m x 3m, frames from R3 495 ex vat. See the full Branded Gazebos range.

When to choose a banner wall

Banner walls solve a problem gazebos cannot: maximum branding in minimum floor space.

A 3m wide banner wall takes up roughly 30cm of floor depth (just enough for the stand feet) but presents a 3m wide x 2.25m tall branded surface. That is over 6 square metres of visible brand at a footprint of less than 1 square metre.

Best for:

  • Indoor expo halls where every square metre is rented (Sandton Convention Centre, Gallagher Estate, CTICC)
  • Photo backdrops at corporate launches
  • Reception entry walls
  • Hashtag walls at brand activations

We make three styles:

When you need both

Most large activations use both: a branded gazebo over staff and product, a pop-up fabric banner wall standing behind as a photo backdrop. The wall doubles your effective branding height behind the gazebo and gives social-media-ready photo opportunities.

Our Deluxe Combo Deal 4 bundles a 3m x 3m gazebo with a 4.5m gazebo back wall + 4 flags + 4 chairs at R15 995 ex vat. That is the gazebo-plus-wall combo at kit pricing.

Cost comparison

A few benchmarks to put it in perspective:

Slim banner wall 3m x 2.2mR4 195 ex vat

Deluxe Pro HD Aluminium 3m x 3m gazeboFrom R5 895 ex vat

A 3m gazebo and a 3m banner wall is roughly equivalent in cost. Choose by use case, not by price.

Durability

Both products last well under normal use:

  • Branded gazebo frames: 15-25 year hardware warranty
  • Banner wall frames: 5-year hardware warranty

Banner wall hardware lasts well, but the fabric tensioning systems and pole connections do not survive the same kind of accidental abuse a gazebo frame will. Save banner walls for indoor or controlled-outdoor environments.

Decision in 30 seconds

Ask yourself:

  1. Are you indoors or outdoors? Outdoors = gazebo. Indoors = wall.
  2. Do you need shelter for staff? Yes = gazebo. No = wall.
  3. Is floor space tight? Yes = wall. No = either.
  4. Are you running a photo opportunity? Wall as backdrop.
  5. Both? Combo Deal 4 bundles them.

Send a brief with your venue, date and footprint to our contact page and we will recommend either, or both, based on your specific job.
